Behind The Scenes, a Nollywood film, grossed ₦512 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2025.
The film had an advanced screening on December 10 and 11, before launching nationwide on December 12.
The film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, acknowledged the milestone in an Instagram post on Monday, hailing it as historic and thanking Nigerian and Ghanaian audiences for their support.
“And yet, another history has been made. Thank you, West Africa for showing up, filling cinemas, and carrying this story with love,” FilmOne said.
According to the distributor, the Funke Akindele-led production has also become the fastest Nollywood film to cross the ₦500 million mark.
“₦512M at the box office. Highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2025. Fastest Nollywood movie to hit ₦500M. Number one film of the weekend,” the statement read.
FilmOne added that the movie’s box office run reflects strong audience belief in the story and its makers.
“This is what belief looks like,” the distributor said, noting that Behind The Scenes remains in cinemas.
Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, Uche Montana, Uzor Arukwe, Ini Dima-Okojie, Adebowale “Mr. Macaroni,” Ibrahim Chatta, Kamo State, and reality TV stars Handi and Wanni Danbaki are among the ensemble cast members of the film, with Scarlet Gomez in the lead role, which centers on the theme of black tax.
According to prior reports, the movie made over ₦200 million on its first weekend of release, making it the first Nollywood film in 2025 to hit that height.
Behind the Scenes was the biggest opening weekend of the year at the time, according to FilmOne, which also mentioned that it held the record for the highest weekend admissions in 2025 five times.
