The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature some of the biggest names in Nigerian music.
Nigerian music stars Burna Boy, Davido and Rema have been confirmed for major performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, highlighting Afrobeats’ growing influence on the global stage.

FIFA has confirmed that Burna Boy will perform at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City, while Rema is scheduled to appear at the opening event in Los Angeles. Davido will headline a World Cup countdown concert in Los Angeles ahead of the competition, also in Los Angeles.
Burna Boy is expected to perform “Dai Dai,” a collaboration with Colombian singer Shakira, during the opening ceremony at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on 11 June for the first time.

“Dai Dai. Shakira and Burna Boy will join a star-studded lineup on the global stage at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City,” the governing body’s Instagram post reads.
FIFA said the ceremony will feature a diverse lineup of international artists, including Mexico’s Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules and Maná. Colombian star J Balvin, Venezuelan singer Danny Ocean and South African Grammy winner Tyla are also expected to perform.

In Los Angeles, Rema will join a star-studded line-up that includes American rapper Future, pop singer Katy Perry, Brazilian star Anitta, South Africa’s Tyla, and K-pop star Lisa.
Davido will take the center stage, performing at the World Cup Countdown Concert on 10 June in Los Angeles. According to FIFA, the event will also feature Major Lazer, the electronic music project led by American DJ Diplo.
FIFA described the concert as a celebration of music, football and culture ahead of the tournament’s opening match.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Beyond their live performances, Nigerian artistes are also heavily represented on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack album.
Burna Boy, Davido, Rema and Ayra Starr are among the African stars featured on the project.
Rema joins Lisa and Anitta on the track “Goals,” while Davido collaborates with Nelly Furtado and Major Lazer on “No Place Like Home.” Ayra Starr appears alongside American rapper Latto on “Show Me,” while Burna Boy teams up with Shakira on “Dai Dai.”
