The First Lady also joined the celebration, praising the Vice President’s “strength, loyalty, commitment and love for the country.”
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted and loyal partner in the administration.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Tinubu extolled Shettima’s “unwavering dedication” to the nation’s progress and unity.
“Today, I warmly congratulate Vice President Kashim Shettima, my brother and partner in steering the ship of our state, on his 60th birthday on September 2. I rejoice with his wife, Nana, children, family and political associates on this important milestone,” the statement read.
Tinubu praises Shettima’s record of service
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.
He noted that during his banking career and as Governor of Borno State, Shettima demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people.
Tinubu specifically acknowledged Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration, and his dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Tinubu said, the Vice President has provided “purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration” between the federal and state governments, while his respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, and dialogue has helped strengthen good governance.
A partnership Tinubu says will continue
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration. I must thank Vice President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians,” Tinubu said.
He expressed confidence that working with Vice President, they would continue to make “meaningful progress towards building the Nigeria of their dreams.”
First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu also joined in celebrating Shettima’s Diamond Jubilee, hailing his strength, loyalty, commitment and love for the country in a separate message marking the occasion.
