A Nigerian Air Force jet reportedly crashed close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State.
Two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots have reportedly survived after an Alpha Jet aircraft crashed close to Karabonde, a community in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident was first made public by Lapai TV, a Niger State–based digital television network, which posted a short update alongside a video on its official Facebook page on Saturday evening.
An eyewitness confirmed the incident, telling media that the two pilots successfully escaped before the aircraft crashed.
He stated, “I believe the aircraft took off from the Kainji Air Force Base. We discovered that the air force has mobilized to the crash location.”
The jet crash was confirmed by a villager named Lukman Sulaiman.
“The incident occurred around 4:10 p.m. It landed pretty close to town, but God is very good; the pilots ejected safely,” he explained.
When asked if the pilots were unharmed, he replied, “Yes, we heard a noisy landing crash.” We were afraid. But later, we started returning to the scene.
