Are you building a business that tackles climate change while creating jobs? Applications are now open for the Green RISE West Africa Fellowship and they close on May 11.
The fellowship is delivered by Acumen Academy in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, and is designed to support entrepreneurs driving inclusive, climate-focused solutions across West Africa.
What’s it about?
The Green RISE (Resilient Impact through Sustainable Entrepreneurship) Fellowship equips entrepreneurs with the leadership skills, tools, and community needed to grow businesses that create green jobs for women and youth, especially in underserved communities.
It is open to entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia working at the intersection of climate and economic inclusion.

Fellows will gain:
- A 6-month hybrid leadership programme (virtual + in-person immersives)
- Practical tools to grow climate-aligned businesses
- Training in leadership, storytelling, and inclusive business strategies
- Access to funding opportunities and growth support
- Entry into Acumen’s global Foundry network of over 2,000 social entrepreneurs
What’s expected?
Participants will:
- Commit about 10 hours per month
- Attend virtual sessions and in-person immersives (held in Nigeria and Kenya)
- Engage in peer learning, assignments, and mentorship
- Continue building their businesses while in the programme
