President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level meeting jointly hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The President touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the early hours of Monday and was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, alongside the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, senior government officials, and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.
The summit will convene African leaders, policymakers, investors, and development partners to explore key issues including economic reform, trade and investment growth, digital transformation, infrastructure expansion, climate action, and sustainable development across the continent.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will also hold bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s relations with other African countries while advancing its economic and diplomatic interests.
Onanuga added that the President’s participation underscores his administration’s focus on African-led solutions to shared challenges and efforts to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda through strategic global engagement.
Tinubu is accompanied by several cabinet members, including Bianca Ojukwu (Foreign Affairs), Abubakar Kyari (Agriculture and Food Security), Adegboyega Oyetola (Marine and Blue Economy), Balarabe Lawal (Environment), Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment), and Bosun Tijani (Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy).
Others in the delegation include Aisha Rimi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC); Sola Enikanolaiye, minister of state-designate for foreign affairs; Omotenioye Majekodunmi, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC); and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
