President & CEO, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has been named a member of the Semafor World Economy Global Advisory Board.
The announcement was made in a statement issued 13 January 2026 by Justin B. Smith & Ben Smith, co-founders of Semafor.
Dangote is the only Nigerian on the Board, which is jointly chaired by Ken C. Griffin, founder and CEO of Citadel; Henry R. Kravis, co-founder and co-executive chairman of KKR; Penny S. Pritzker, former US Secretary of Commerce; and David M. Rubenstein, co-founder and co-chairman of the Carlyle Group.

In December 2025, Dangote was appointed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission as the pioneer chairperson of its newly created Business Council. Dangote is also a member, since April 2025, of the World Bank’s Private Sector Investment Lab.
