APC governors meet Tinubu in Lagos ahead of party primaries

Ahead of the party’s governorship primaries next month, 31 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors are meeting in Lagos under the auspices of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) to discuss the state of the nation.

The Governors gathered at the Eko Hotel on Victoria Island on Sunday for the meeting, which was originally slated for the afternoon. The governors had initially paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu’s Ikoyi mansion to congratulate him on his successful state visit to the United Kingdom and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

As of 9.40 p.m., only 21 out of the 31 governors had come for the important meeting.

It was gathered that one of the key issues for deliberation is the focus on holding a rancour free, successful party’s primaries.

Others include Umo Eno, Awka Ibom, Ahmadu Sule, Nasarawa, Siminalayi Fubara, Rivers; Usman Ododo, Kogi; Francis Nwifuru, Ebonyi; Caleb Mutfwang, Plateau; Abba Yusuf, Kano; Umaru Bago, Niger; Peter Mbah, Enugu; Umaru Bago, Niger; Namadi Umar, Jigawa; Dikko Umaru, Katsina; and Douye Diri, Bayelsa.
