President Bola Tinubu will commence a three-state tour of Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos on Saturday, December 20.
According to Bayo Onanuga, special advisor to the president on media and strategy, Tinubu’s first destination will be Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, where he would commission projects carried out by the Babagana Zulum administration in partnership with the federal government.
He further stated that the president will attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, the son of former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
From Maiduguri, the president will go to Bauchi to express condolences to the state government and the family of Dahiru Bauchi, the late Muslim cleric and head of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who died on November 27.
Tinubu would travel to Lagos after the condolence visit to spend the approaching Christmas and end-of-year vacations.
The president is slated to attend multiple engagements in the city, including the Eyo Festival on December 27 as the guest of honour.
According to Onanuga, the celebration, which will be hosted in Tafawa Balewa Square, will celebrate significant personalities such as Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and two previous governors, Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
