The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports circulating in parts of the media claiming it has released a price list for nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, the party described the report as false and said no official decision had been made regarding the sale or pricing of forms for the next electoral cycle.
“The APC states categorically that the report is FAKE and did not emanate from the party,” the statement said. “To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections.”
The party added that the information being circulated was unfounded, describing it as “a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination.”
The APC urged its members, media organisations and the public to ignore the report. “We urge Party members, the media, and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety,” the statement said.
Political parties in Nigeria typically release guidelines, including nomination form costs, closer to election cycles, often following consultations within party structures and in line with regulations set by the electoral commission. No major party has yet formally announced pricing for the 2027 elections, which remain more than a year away.
The APC’s response comes amid heightened political activity and early positioning ahead of the next general elections, with misinformation around party processes increasingly circulating on social media and some online platforms.
