Regina battling drug, alcohol addiction, needs rehabilitation – Ned Nwoko

Ned Nwoko, the senator for Delta North, has accused his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, of drug and alcohol abuse.

His comments came after a viral video surfaced on Saturday of a weeping Daniels being consoled by friends as she claimed mistreatment in their marriage.

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence, it is too much,” Daniels said in the video, which sparked widespread public concern.

In a post on X, Nwoko rejected the charges of domestic assault, claiming that his wife’s drug and alcohol addiction had become the “root of our problem”.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko wrote.

The member claimed that Daniels had lately moved to a location where she had “unrestricted access to drugs,” and that her recent aggressive behaviour had targeted both domestic personnel and property.

“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause,” he said.

Nwoko noted that he had asked his wife to undergo rehabilitation either in Asokoro or abroad — preferably in Jordan — where she would be far removed from her alleged suppliers and have no access to harmful substances.

“A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse for exposing her drug abuse,” the senator alleged, referring to an incident involving their son.

He claimed that while he took their child to receive medical attention, chaos erupted at home, allegedly instigated by one of Daniels’ close associates identified as “Sammy”, whom Nwoko described as her “main drug supplier”.

He further accused another individual, referred to as “the tiny evil devil called Ann”, of being part of a circle that enabled his wife’s addiction.

The senator stated that his main concern was Daniels’ health and safety, warning that if she did not continue her therapy, her condition would deteriorate.

“I fear for her well-being if she does not continue her rehabilitation”, Nwoko said, adding that her actions over the past two days had been “a clear manifestation of addiction”.
