The North Central Development Commission (NCNCDC) has clarified questions raised in its budget plan for 2025, which is currently before the National Assembly.
Mr James Uloko, Executive Director, Corporate Services, NCDC, said in a statement on Friday in Lafia that the Commission had presented a N140 billion proposal to the Senate Committee on NCDC as part of preparations for the agency’s full launch, which is only a month old.
The statement recalled that on September 30, the commission’s administration went before the Senate to defend the plan, and members of the committee held open and closed sessions to review the estimates and seek clarity.
According to the statement, the Senate Committee made observations and revisions before issuing its approval, which is subject to House of Representatives Committee concurrence.
The Commission stressed that the 2025 budget was still in the works and would only take effect after it was passed as part of the national budget.
While acknowledging the public’s interest in its actions, the Commission stated that it will maintain transparency and accountability in its operations in accordance with existing financial standards.
